Hi family and friends! We are here safely in Chennai at
Madras Christian College staying in the International Guest House. It’s a balmy
90 degrees, however it’s technically winter here in India and many of the
locals consider the weather to be chilly. We’ve been spending lots of time with
some of the wonderful MCC students who have been taking care of us during our
adventures and excursions. We’ve been attending lectures from several MCC
faculty members and discussing cross-cultural differences and injustices in
India. We spent a day shadowing various internship sites with the Indian
students. After visiting these sites, we spent the afternoon shopping at the
local markets with the students for kurtas
and sarees. Something we’re still
getting used to is the chaos on the roads—traffic laws don’t exist in the same
way and car horns are used quite liberally here in India! We love talking to
the MCC students about our observations and asking lots of questions about
their culture. Stay tuned for more upcoming posts about our adventures. Love
from India ~ Kuášpai!
